Shohei Ohtani’s 50/50 baseball Auction for Goldin.com / eBay Inc. 2024 | Freelance Graphic Designer.
This series for Goldin.com and eBay Inc. highlights the auction of Shohei Ohtani’s 50/50 home run baseball. Shohei Ohtani, a Japanese MLB player for the Los Angeles Dodgers. After a legendary performance versus the Miami Marlins, he achieved the unprecedented feat of 50 home runs and 50 stolen bases in a single season during the late 2024 season. Ohtani is the only player in history to accomplish this and later led the Dodgers to their eighth World Series Championship.
My primary responsibility was to develop a cohesive visual identity for the event and deliver a polished and consistent look that elevated the auction’s promotional efforts and enhanced its overall impact. I was asked to seamlessly integrate the iconic 50/50 ball into all designs, which was accomplished by using the iconic off-white, red, and blue colors shared by the Los Angeles Dodgers and the ball.
The project required the creation of adaptable and engaging graphic assets for social media and environmental print materials. These designs needed to be visually striking and informative, capturing the moment and auctions' significance while resonating with diverse audiences.
The auction of the game-used 50/50 ball closed at 4.39 million, the highest sale price of any ball in any sport.
